Certified Public Accountant Dallas AlternativeBooks and payroll setup
We keep the categories steady and set payroll up so the amounts land where the books can read them.
Ask about payroll
The ordinary work, said plainly
The books are categories you can say out loud, reconciliations that match the bank, and statements that come from those months. None of that is a trick. It is the monthly work that keeps the year from being rebuilt from memory when the return comes due.
A category that changes its mind every month is not a category. We pick names you would use and we keep them. When a new kind of cost shows up, we add a name on purpose. We do not let the software invent one in the corner.
Clean numbers are what you get when that habit holds. The cash, the categories, and the statements agree with each other because the months were closed that way.
Payroll setup without taking payday
You approve the run. We make sure the run shows up in the books. That split is the whole setup. The service can be the one you already pay for. We are not asking you to move payday to a new logo for the sake of a logo.
Owner draws are the amounts people forget, because they do not feel like wages. They still belong in the month. A draw in July should not surface as a mystery in January. We name it while July is open.
If payday is not running yet, say so. Setup is different from a catch-up. We would rather know which one you need than assume the service is already in place.
A Saturday line in Bishop Arts
We can all appreciate the line at Lockhart Smokehouse in Bishop Arts, and a Saturday that long is still a week we want named in the books.
A good line is a pleasure. It is also deposits, tips, a busy register, and a Monday that has to make sense of Saturday. Saturday's line at Lockhart is a pleasure we can share. Monday still has to show the deposits, the tips, and the register in the books.
Your week may be a shop, a crew, or a quiet office. The habit does not care. A week that felt full should look full. A week that felt thin should look thin. The books are a memory that does not get tired.
Reconciliations and the statements
Reconciliation is the part nobody frames and everybody needs. It is how we prove the cash number. Once a month is reconciled, the statement can be trusted by someone who was not in the room when the deposits happened.
We keep financial statements and the shorter reports in the same family. If a report and a statement disagree, the month is not finished. We do not publish the pretty one and hide the argument.
The statement should be readable by a partner on a quiet Sunday, with no glossary sitting beside it. If a line needs a note, we write the note in a sentence. What those reports are, and are not, is its own page.
What to hand us
Bank access or the statements, the payroll service name, and the last month you believe. That is a strong start. We can tell you what else would help after we see the shape. We do not need a perfect archive on day one.
If the archive is a mess, say that too. Messy is a scope, not a moral. We will say how far back we have to walk before the current month can close. You decide whether that walk is the work you want.
The close itself is described on the monthly close page. Questions that are really about the first call live on the question page.
Ask about the books
Say whether payroll is already running, and which month you last trusted.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
